Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disc drive device capable of keeping the stiffness of a fluid dynamic pressure bearing unit even if a driving current is reduced, and stably executing reading/writing even under a condition with many vibrations.SOLUTION: A disc drive device includes: a base member to which a suction plate is bonded; a rotor to which a magnet is bonded; a bearing unit; and a driving unit. The bearing unit has a thrust member which configures a first thrust dynamic pressure generating portion at one end portion and a second thrust dynamic pressure generating portion at the other end. The first thrust dynamic pressure generating portion generates dynamic pressure in a first direction, and the second thrust dynamic pressure generating portion generates dynamic pressure in the opposite direction to the first direction. The suction plate generates suction force in a direction attracting the rotor to the base member side. When the rotor is rotated, the resultant force of force generated in the rotor by the first thrust dynamic pressure generating portion and force generated in the rotor by the second thrust dynamic pressure generating portion is balanced with the sum of gravity and suction force applied on the rotor.
