To provide a discharge amount adjusting device 9 that adjusts the flow rate of cooling water of high precision and high concentration rate to be discharged outside a cooling tower 1 with simple device configuration.
The discharge amount adjusting device 9 for cooling water is used for a cooling tower 1 including: a cooling water circulation system 3 having a water storage tank 7 arranged below a heat exchanger 6 cooling a refrigerant circulating in a closed path, temporarily storing cooling water scattered from above the heat exchanger 6 in the water storage tank 7, and scattering the cooling water stored in the water storage tank 7 over the heat exchanger 6; and a cooling water refilling system 81 refilling the water storage tank with cooling water so as to maintain the cooling water stored in the water storage tank 7 at a predetermined water level. The discharge amount adjusting device 9 includes: a water receiving portion 91 which receives a part of cooling water, scattered to fall over the heat exchanger 6, through an opening part 911 provided faceup, and discharges the cooling water outside the water storage tank 7; and a received water amount adjusting portion 92 which adjusts the discharge amount of the cooling water discharged from the water receiving portion 91 by adjusting the opening area of an opening part 911 of the water receiving portion 91.
