To provide a discharge lamp apparatus which cuts off the light of a wavelength band (250-400 NM) which is sensed by many insects and which is effective for preventing the insects from flying in.

The apparatus has a discharge lamp 70 which emits light including ultraviolet ray having wavelength of 400 NM or less. A reflector 20 for reflecting the light of the discharge lamp 70 is provided and a translucent plate 40 for covering the opening part of the reflector 20 is provided. A translucent ultraviolet cutting film 50 which cuts off 99% or more of the ultraviolet rays of 400 NM or less is arranged on the surface of the discharge lamp 70 side of the translucent plate 20.
