Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp device where the discharge axis of an are tube can be easily and precisely positioned relative to the center axis of a focus ring.
SOLUTION: The sealed glass bulb 12 of an arc tube main body 11 is sealed in an ultraviolet shielding globe 20 in an arc tube 10. The front end portion thereof is supported by a metal-made lead support 36 extending forward from a focus ring 34-provided synthetic resin-made insulation plug 30. The globe 20 rear end side of the arc tube 10 is supported by a metal-made support member 50 fixed to the insulation plug 30. The metal-made support member 50 is composed of a metal-made base plate 51 fixed to the insulation plug 30 and constituting a reference plane parallel to the focus ring 34 on the front face of the insulation plug 30, and a metal-made vertical hold member (a slide plate 61 and a grasp band 71).
