Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp driving device capable of improving a service life of a discharge lamp.SOLUTION: One aspect of a discharge lamp driving device of the present invention comprises: a discharge lamp driving unit which supplies driving power to a discharge lamp; a control unit which controls the discharge lamp driving unit; and a voltage detecting unit which detects an inter-electrode voltage of the discharge lamp. The control unit can execute power fluctuation driving for periodically fluctuating the driving power to be supplied to the discharge lamp. The control unit changes the thermal load of the driving current supplied to the discharge lamp in power fluctuation driving on the base of the driving power and the inter-electrode voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
