Abstract:
To surely detect short circuit and current leakable of a discharge lamp.
A lighting circuit 1 has a DC-AC converting means 3 which converts DC voltage from a DC power source 2 into AC voltage and supplies it to a discharge lamp 9. A sampling means 4 which samples lamp voltage or lamp current by synchronizing with a driving signal Sp sent to the DC-AC converting means 3 in order to generate an AC wave and an abnormality judging means 5 which judges short circuit or current leakage of the discharge lamp 9 based on a detecting signal from the sampling means 4 are arranged, and when the abnormality judging means 5 judges as abnormality, power supply to the discharge lamp 9 is stopped.
