At least in a regular lighting state of a discharge lamp (Ld), a target lamp current signal generation circuit (Up) acquires a plurality of numbers of lamp voltage detection signals (Sv) over a period of a length or more of a color sequential period of the dynamic color filter (Of), and forms the target lamp current signal (St) based on the acquired plurality of numbers of lamp voltage detecting signals (Sv).
