Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control a discharge position during electric discharging machining while utilizing the control of the discharging position to obtain the electric discharge machining method with high working speed.
CONSTITUTION: While pulse-like working voltage is applied from a working power supply part 3 to a tool electrode 1 for electric discharging machining, high voltage with high rising speed is applied locally from a power supply part 8 for overlapping electric field in synchronization with the working voltage. Then, gap voltage near the electric field overlapping position is heightened temporarily to cause discharge near the electric field overlapping position. When the electric field overlapping position is changed in every discharge, the discharging position is moved sequentially along with the change in the electric field overlapping position. Thus, the concentration of discharge will be prevented so that a discharge suspending time can be shortened.
