Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the discharging phenomenon of an electro-resistance-welded tube and a bead cutter by fitting a ferromagnetic body having the large hysteresis loss on the outer periphery of the electro-resistance-welded tube between a squeeze roll and a cutter.
SOLUTION: The outer periphery of an electro-resistance-welded tube 4 is fitted between a squeeze roll 5 and a bead cutter 2 through a ferromagnetic body 3 having the large hysteresis loss. The alternating magnetic field extending to the ferromagnetic body 3 by a high frequency induction coil 1 generates the alternating magnetic field inside the ferromagnetic body 3 by the electromagnetic induction, is converted into heat by being taken as the hysteresis loss, and consumed. Therefore, the alternating magnetic field by the high frequency induction coil is not extending to the downstream side of the ferromagnetic body 3, and eddy current based on the alternating magnetic field is not generated. Accordingly, the discharging phenomenon of the electro-resistance-welded tube and the cutter 2 can be prevented.
