Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document loading device which can prevent the enlargement of a discharge failure that an aggregate of discharged documents and the discharged documents continuously fall from a paper discharge tray after they have fallen once, and an image reading device.SOLUTION: A discharge sheet loading device comprises: a discharge port 12 from which a conveyed sheet is discharged; a discharge sheet tray 44 which is arranged below the discharge port 12, and loads a sheet which is discharged by discharge means at a prescribed discharge speed; and sheet change amount detection sensors ss1-a, ss1-b which detect a change state of the sheet before the sheet is loaded on the discharge sheet tray 44. The discharge sheet loading device determines whether or not the discharge state of the sheet is abnormal on the basis of detection results of the sheet change amount detection sensors, and stops an operation of the discharge means when the abnormal state is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
