To provide a discharge valve mechanism of a compressor in which the movable amount of a valve is small during normal operation and it is automatically smoothly changed to be large during operation at a high flow rate, whereby the noise reducing effect can be obtained and a problem such as overcompression is avoided.
The discharge valve mechanism is provided with valve guards 43 each having a curved surface 43b which is positioned opposite to a movable portion 23b of a flexible plate-like discharge valve 23 with a space interposed therebetween so as to restrict the movement of the movable portion. The movable portion of the plate-like discharge valve extends from a fixed portion 23a secured to a valve plate in the first direction A1 parallel to the valve plate so as to face to the outlet end of the discharge hole 32 of the valve plate. The curved surface of the valve guard has portions which are parallel to the valve plate and the radii of which are different from each other in the second direction perpendicular to the first direction.
