PURPOSE: To provide a discharging device which prevents decrease in the soft X-ray amount resulting from contamination of an irradiation window and which is equipped with an enhanced discharging performance by applying air ions produced by soft X-rays effectively to a charged body.
CONSTITUTION: A discharging device is equipped with an air flow path 3 installed along the outside surface of a soft X-ray irradiation device 2 and a blower fan 10 which supplies air forcedly to the air flow path 3 through an air filter 12. The air flow path 3 is formed so that the supplied air flows in while enclosing an irradiation window 7 provided in the irradiation device 2. Ahead of the window 7 an air jet 14 is formed through which the air having flowed to the window 7 is jetted out in the same direction as the soft X-ray irradiating direction.
