PURPOSE: To provide a separate type steam silencer in which there occurs a few deterioration in sound muffling performance even after its use of long period of time and of which installing work at a high location or the like may easily be carried out.

CONSTITUTION: Frame members 7 are arranged at a bottom part of a hollow casing 4. Sound muffling panels 5 are inserted from above and their lower ends are fitted to fitting portions 8 of the frame members 7 and then the upper portions of the sound muffling panels 5 are fixed by another frame member 10. Silent devices 1 are piled up in multi-stages so as to form a steam silencer.
