PURPOSE: To obtain an effective discrimination output of information code with a small amount of hardware, by selecting one of a plurality of signals outputted from an accessible memory through the use of a part of information code based on the rest part of the information code.
CONSTITUTION: Eight-bit at output terminals of a PROM1 is respectively connected to eight data input terminals of a selector 2. According to a signal given to selection terminals A, B and C, any of the 8 data input terminals of the selector 2 is selected and outputted to a terminal W. In discriminating two-byte information used for Japanese language processing, 3-bit is assigned to 16-bit to the selected terminal of the selector 2 and selected at the output side and 13-bit in the 16-bit is assigned to the address terminal of the PROM1 as the selection of input side. The discrimination of two-byte information code can be made by writing the information to the PROM1 so that "1" can be outputted to the terminal W of the selector 2 only when effective 2-byte information is given in advance.
