PURPOSE: To ensure the protection of dishonest use of taximeter by providing a taximeter with a means for detecting a load applied to the taxi, and a means for recording a signal that indicates the load and traveling condition, and a means for recording a signal whether or not the taximeter is operated.

CONSTITUTION: A malicious use protection apparatus is designed so that a load which is set by the weights of the car body, the driver, and fuel can be compared with a measured load of the taxi when the taxi is in stop. Now, when the driver inserts a card 10 in a card unit 9, a circuit 13 carries out initial zero point adjustment for a memory 14, and detects the memory 14 for the variation of the load when the taxi stops for taking a passenger and cargo in the taxi, and also makes it possible to discriminate whether the taxi is traveling with or without passenger. Since fuel weight decreases during traveling, the level of fuel tank 7 is checked when the taxi is in stop, and further the time on a clock 17 and the travel distance on a distance recorder 5 are compared to evaluate fuel consumption based on the average fuel consumption to detect whether or not fuel has been dishonestly extracted from the fuel tank. The results of various measurements are magnetically recorded in a recorder 19, and whether or not a dishonest action has been detected is recorded in the card 10.
