Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a chipping in a glass substrate and a flaw on a deflecting plate, which constitute a liquid crystal panel.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises a pair of glass substrates 1 and 2 containing transparent electrodes on their inner surfaces and a liquid crystal panel 10 composed of a liquid crystal layer pinched between the substrates and a deflecting plate 6 arranged on their external surfaces of respective substrates. Both end surface parts of the glass substrates are enclosed with a protecting frame 17 containing a side wall 18 which includes the parts exceeding the total thickness of the liquid crystal panel 10, and concurrently the liquid crystal panel 10 is supported by the protecting frame 17. The protecting frame 17 and the liquid crystal panel 10 are fixed to each other by an adhesive 20 so as to provide an integrated liquid crystal display device convenient for handling.
