Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk brake for a bicycle equipped with a fluid cooling device.
SOLUTION: A caliper includes a housing and a piston unit, and a cooling member 24 of a cooling device is mounted on the housing. The housing is equipped with a frame mounting member large enough to connect with a part of a bicycle frame. The piston unit is connected to the housing so as to move between a releasing position wherein the piston unit moves away from a brake disk 22 mounted on a wheel of a bicycle and a braking position wherein the piston unit engages with the brake disk 22 of the wheel of the bicycle. The cooling member 24 provides a cooling area forming a heat sink accommodating coolants, thereby removing heat from the housing. The housing includes actuation passages 58a, 58b which communicates with the piston unit and moves the piston unit with an actuation fluid.
