Abstract:

PURPOSE: To sharply improve brake efficiency and realize it with a simple means and with a small sized structure by activating the pad self of a disk brake as a servo brake.
CONSTITUTION: In a disk brake device, an inner pad 24 and an outer pad 34 are rotatably supported with supporting bolts 20, 22 together with a caliper 44. First friction parts 30, 40 and second friction parts 32, 42 are respectively provided on respective pads 24, 34, and being respectively opposed to the disk part 14 or the dram part 16 of a disk rotor 12. At the time of brake operation, the first friction parts 30, 40 are brought into pressure-contact with a disk part 14 so as to generate brake torque, and also each pad 24, 34 is rotated, and then, the second friction parts 32, 42 are brought into pressure-contact with the dram part 16 so as to generate braking force by self servo effect. It is thus possible to sharply improve brake efficiency, simplify a mechanism, and carry out downsizing.
