Abstract:

To maintain an independent inherent friction characteristic without changing the friction characteristic of the adjacent friction member while few fallout components of each friction member are transferred to an adjacent fiction member having different friction characteristics even in the case of using a plurality of friction members having different friction characteristics and repeating braking, to thereby alleviate offensive characteristic to a counterpart.

In a disk brake pad in which a plurality of friction members having different friction characteristics formed in a circular arc shape with respect to a length direction (braking direction) are arranged alternatively, and manufacturing method thereof including a back plate 1 and friction members integrally formed with the back plate 1, a plurality of friction material powders for friction members having different frictional characteristics with one another are separately preformed, then they are arranged alternately in a circular arc shape in a length direction and molded integrally with the back plate 1, or a plurality of friction material powders for friction members having different frictional characteristics with one another are filled in a mold such that they are arranged alternately in a circular arc shape in a length direction, and then they are preformed integrally with one another and after that they are integrally formed with the back plate 1.
