Title:
DISK BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2738211
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To solve the problem in a disk brake in which a liquid hole in a calliper is used to communicate a plurality of brake cylinders provided in the calliper with each other that the wall thickness of the bottom of each cylinder must be thickened because the liquid hole is machined from the inlet side of each cylinder, resulting in increases in weight and size of the calliper.
CONSTITUTION: A communicating liquid hole 4 provided at the deep end corner portion of a brake cylinder 2 is a stepped one the open side of which is a large diameter hole 4a and the rest a small diameter hole 4b. With this structure, the position of the depth of the communicating portion of the liquid hole can be made shallow by bringing the center of boring of the hole closer to the inlet side of the cylinder 2. Also, the large diameter hole 4a is opened to the bottom surface of the cylinder so that the function of allowing a brake fluid to smoothly flow into and out of the cylinder can be maintained. Therefore, the bottom wall of the cylinder need not be thickened wastefully, resulting in weight reduction and miniaturization of a calliper.
