Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the consumption of the battery in the adapter with simple constitution by detecting the rotation of a magnet which rotates associatively with a motor for disk cartridge driving with the output of a sensor detecting magnetic field variation and supplying the electric power from a power source to a driving part communication interface part.
SOLUTION: When the disk cartridge type adapter is inserted into a floppy disk drive(FDD) 70, the motor rotation detection sensor 54 senses magnetic flux variation due to the rotation of the disk attracting magnet in the FDD 70 and informs an MPU 83 of that by interruption to decide the access state of the FDD 70 when the MPU 83 decides that there is the magnetic flux variation and the stop state of the FDD 70 when not. In the stop state of the FDD 70, the power supply from the battery part to the communication interface part 91 for the FDD 70 is stopped and in the access state, on the other hand, the electric power is supplied to the communication interface part 91.
