To surely start up a disk device under a low temp. by raising the temp. in the device while repeating an ON/OFF control by which the power source of the device is turned off after it is turned on for a prescribed time when the device is not started up even after the lapse of prescribed time.
The stating device 40 of a disk device 45 starts initialization post operation by an initialization instruction to be generated at the time of a power-on. In this starting device 40, a monitoring part 42 monitors the starting of the operation of the disk device 45 and a timer 43 counts an clapsed time from the time of the power-on. Moreover, when the starting of the operation of the device 45 is not detected in the monitoring part 42 even after the prescribed time after the power-on is elapsed, a power control part 41 turns on the power source of the device 45 again after turning off its power source. By such a constitution and operations, the device 45 is made to be warmed up to secure the starting of the disk device 45 under an unexpected low temp.
