Abstract:
To provide a disk drive for CD-R and DVD-RW disks which can write data under conditions of a high speed revolution including a critical revolution speed.
A nonmatching air pressure distribution is intentionally created in a drive casing for a deformation mode of the disk which can be assumed for the critical revolution speed so that vibrational amplitude does not grow large by virtue of mutual cancellation of forces which generate deformation. Specifically, a pickup part of the disk and a groove where the pickup is moving are given a prescribed or wider width.
