Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk memory capable of improving data transfer by prefetch of data even in the case of performing special reproduction such as reverse reproduction, fast reproduction in the case of using a disk memory device for recording and reproducing data on a moving image, voice, etc.
SOLUTION: A continuity detection part detects the access directivity, the inter-area interval distance between the areas and the area sizes of an area accessed by a read instruction just before and an area requested by a present read instruction. A position and a size on a disk memory medium for performing prefetch of data are decided by using the values. Thus, prefetch of data is performed efficiently with respect to a consecutive read instruction requesting data positioned discretely at a fixed interval in a negative direction that is the decreasing direction of addresses.
