Title:
DISK ROTOR OF DISK BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3663894
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent brake squeals and noises.
SOLUTION: A disk rotor 1 comprises brake disk contact faces 1a and 1b on which a brake pad is pressed, a plurality of ribs 3 spaced out radially evenly between the contact faces 1a and 1b, and air passages defined between the ribs 3. The air passages include first air passages 15 defined between the ribs 3 spaced in a thirty-six-cyclotomic manner, and second air passages 17 of a lengthened circumferential size resulting from the elimination of six ribs or every six rib spaced in a six-cyclotomic manner. The width between both contact faces 1a and 1b of the second air passages 17 is made smaller than that of the first air passages 15, and each dimensions of respective parts are set in that the cross-sectional geometrical moment of inertia of the first and second air passages 15 and 17 within a prescribed same circumferential range is made generally equal to each other.
