Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate or reduce the abrasion of a coin made of soft metal such as aluminum.
CONSTITUTION: This coin sorting device is equipped with a rotatable disk 17 which has an elastic top surface and a stationary type sorting head 12 which has a reverse surface arranged nearby above the top surface of the disk 17. The coin is rotated between the opposite top and reverse surfaces of the disk 17 and head 12. At least a partial area 41 on the reverse surface of the sorting head 12 is so shaped as to press the coin passing there against the flexible top surface of the disk 17. In this area 41, at least one rotatable bearing members 42 and 44 are arranged which have rotatable bearing surfaces for eliminating or reducing the abrasion of the coin made of soft metal by engaging the coin passing there.
