Title:
DISPERSED EL ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05326150
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a dispersed EL element having uniform high luminance emission by constituting an insulating layer from a fibrous titanic acid alkali earth metal and an organic binder having a high dielectric constant.

CONSTITUTION: An insulating layer is formed of a fibrous titanic acid alkali earth metal and an organic binder having a high dielectric constant. As alkali earth metals are preferably used fibrous titanic acid alkali earth metals shown by the general formula MO.nTi2 (M is an alkali earth metal, n=1-12), which are obtained by depositing carbonates of alkali earth metals on the surface of fibrous titania compounds by solution reaction and conducting heating treatment at 500-1300°C. As the forms of the alkali earth metals, those having fiber lengths of 3-1000μm and fiber diameters of 0.1-10μm are used. As the organic binders, known materials such as cyanoethyl cellulose can be widely used. Since the fibers in the insulating layer are superposed in the thickness direction, and the fibers make face contact vertically to the direction of adding an electric field, the dielectric constant is significantly improved, and a sufficient field strength can be provided.
