Abstract:
To provide a dispersion liquid that contains particles of tetrafluoroethylene-based polymer at an optional content and is excellent in dispersion stability.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a dispersion liquid is characterized by mixing a liquid composition containing particles of thermally meltable tetrafluoroethylene-based polymer and a first liquid dispersion medium with a polar second liquid dispersion medium that is higher in boiling point than the first liquid dispersion medium and compatible with the first liquid dispersion medium to prepare a mixed liquid, concentrating the mixture, and substituting the first liquid dispersion medium by the second liquid dispersion medium, to obtain a dispersion liquid containing the particles and the second liquid dispersion medium. Furthermore, the dispersion liquid also includes particles of a thermally melted tetrafluoroethylene polymer and at least one liquid dispersion medium selected from the group consisting of water, alcohol, amide, ketone and ester, the content of tetrafluoroethylene polymer in the dispersion liquid is 3 to 50 mass%, the average particle size of the particles is smaller than 50 μm, and the particle settling rate of particles after standing still the dispersion liquid for 14 days is equal to or larger than 60%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
