PURPOSE: To obtain an excellent dispersion stabilizer for producing a high polymeric emulsion by a method wherein a hydrophilic product of a reaction between a water-soluble high molecular substance having a functional group and a water-insoluble high molecular substance having a reactive group is used as a dispersion stabilizer.
CONSTITUTION: A high molecular substance having a functional group in its molecule and a water-insoluble high molecular substance having a reactive group capable of reacting with the functional group to form a bond dissociative in water are reacted to such a degree as to have a water-soluble property or a water-dispersible solubility, and the resultant hydrophilic reaction product is used as a stabilizer for dispersion of an oily substance into water. The dispersion stabilizer is used for producing an emulsion and is excellent in stability such as mechanical, chemical and freeze-thaw stability.
