PURPOSE: To prevent adhesion of stains which can not be removed by an ordinary cleaner so as to provide a facing building material unit such as a facing material by which the beauty of a building can be maintained by an ordinary cleaning work, especially a curtain wall or the like by eliminating the need of frequent maintenance, providing good antibacterial property and mildewproof property, and dissolving and reforming silicone oil oozing through a silicone sealant material to adhere to the surface of a building material. CONSTITUTION: In a facing building material unit formed by fixing panel materials 1, 2 to a frame material 3 through silicone sealant materials 6a, 6b, except a region coming into contact with the silicone sealant materials 6a, 6b, at least the surface near the silicone sealant materials 6a, 6b of the frame material 3 and/or the panel materials 1, 2 is coated with a thin film 10 including a semiconductor having a photocatalytic action of dissolving an organic material under the irradiation of light. Further, a thin film including antibacterial metal such as silver, copper or the like is coated on the thin film including a semiconductor having photocatalytic action, thereby providing a building material which is further excellent in antibacterial property and mildewproof property.
