Abstract:
To provide a display apparatus capable of improving a contrast ratio.
A display apparatus 1 has a polarization layer PL formed by applying a shear stress to a material containing a coloring agent having lyotropic liquid crystalline to orientate a molecule of the coloring agent. The display apparatus 1 has an undercoat film UL forming an undercoat of the polarization layer PL, the molecule of the coloring agent has a sulfonic group, and the undercoat film UL is comprised of a material having a base surface functional group.
