PURPOSE: To decrease the number of times of reading out a part in which same content is successively continued from a video RAM and to contrive to save electric power of a display control device by confirming identity of all bits of display data based on registered contents of a status memory when display data is outputted to a display device.
CONSTITUTION: When a central processing unit(CPU) writes display data in video RAMs 7a-7c, a coincidence detecting circuit 14a-14c takes in display data of the video RAMs 7a-7c, and checks identity of all bits of display data written by the CPU. While, a video RAM control signal generating section 4 writes information from the coincidence detecting circuit 14a-14c in a status RAM 13. On the other hand, the video RAM control signal generating section 4 outputs a reading-out control signal of the status RAM 13 at the time of output for display, and reads a status signal outputted from the status RAM 13. If the status signal is '1', the reading-out control signal is not outputted.
