PURPOSE: To provide a display device capable of being attached to a helmet by providing an eyepiece means for receiving a picture from a focal face when it is engaged and displaying the picture in the front visual field of an observer.
CONSTITUTION: The display device consists of the helmet 21 worn by a observer, picture sources 22 and 23 arranged on the outer face of the helmet for supplying the picture of changing luminance and is a relay optical means which receives the picture in the incident pupils, is constituted of plural optical elements for guiding the picture to an intermediate picture focal face arranged near the opening of the outer face along an optical path and is arranged on the outer face of the helmet are provided. The picture approximated to the focal face is the picture focused at the incident pupils and the picture which is approximated to the focal face and is focused is the enlarged picture of the picture at the incident pupils. The relay optical means is engaged with the eyepiece. Thus, the eyepiece means receives the picture from the focal face and it operates to show the picture in the former visual field.
