PURPOSE: To improve the ease of use by changing the number of lighting elements of display element arrays in accordance with the temp. of a fixing device when a copying machine is not in the state of permitting fixing.
CONSTITUTION: Upon switching on of the power source of a copying machine, a temp. control circuit provided to a fixing device operates and the temp. in a fixing section rises. A temp. detector 51 detects said temp. at all times, and the temp. thereof is applied through an amplifier 52 and an AD converter 53 to a control section 20. The section 20 outputs the signals for dynamic driving of LEDs 401W415 to a line decoder 30 by confirming that the detected temp. is lower than the fixing temp. The decoder 30 decodes said data to hexadecimal digits and applies the outputs thereof to the cathodes of the LEDs 401W415. Therefore the number of lighting elements of the LEDs 401W415 increases and when the temp. in the fixing section attains the fixing temp. the output of an AD converter 58 goes to 1111. The section 29 discriminates said output and outputs 0000W1111 cyclically.
