The pixel 2 includes the drive transistor Trd outputting a drive current according to a picture signal and a light emitting element EL emitting light at the luminance according to the drive current. The drive transistor Trd includes a pair of current ends connected between a power supply and the light emitting element EL, a channel region between the pair of current ends, a first gate electrode into which a signal is written from a signal line, and a second gate electrode disposed facing the first gate electrode via the channel region. A correction circuit 6 applies a correction electric potential for correcting the variation of the characteristics of the drive transistor Trd to the second gate electrode via a control line CL.
