Abstract:

To provide a display device and image generation method that can reduce a processing load regarding an image generation.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a display unit that displays images; an image generation unit that generates the image as image data; a polt unit that plots the image generated by the image generation unit. The image generation unit comprises: a background image reading unit that reads background images D3 including a plurality of background numerical images N1 to be arrayed; a first overlapping processing unit that overlaps a middle ground image D1 including a pointer image D1a pointing to an engine rpm by movement of a position relative to the background numerical image N1 on the background image D3; and a second overlapping processing unit that overlaps a foreground image D2 including a foreground numerical image N2 overlapping the background numerical image N1 and the pointer image D1a on the middle ground image D1 and the background image D3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
