Abstract:

To reduce a failure, with respect to a video which already has the failure when the video is input to a device.

A display device comprises: a determination unit for determining the failure of the video by detecting discontinuity of an edge included in an input video; a video processing unit which subjects the input video to processing for higher image quality or processing for higher frame rate; and a display unit for displaying a video processed by the video processing unit. The video processing unit, in accordance with the determination result of the determination unit, changes the strength and level of the processing for the higher image quality or changes the generation processing of an interpolation frame in the processing for the higher frame rate.
