To suppress errors of a program due to gate parasitic capacity of a drive transistor for driving a light emitting element.
A display device is provided with an active matrix substrate in which many pixel circuits 11 are arranged, wherein each pixel circuit has: the light emitting element 11a; the N-type drive transistor 11b whose source terminal is connected to an anode terminal of the light emitting element 11a, and which supplies a drive current to the light emitting element; and a capacity element 11c connected between a gate terminal of the drive transistor 11b and the source terminal. The light emitting element 11a measures forward voltage when being in a light emitting state, and applies the measured forward voltage to the source terminal of the drive transistor 11b when program voltage is set to the drive transistor 11b.
