PURPOSE: To display the picture having the lines which include the pixel values that are interpolated between the pixel values of the two adjacent lines of the stored picture by periodically reconfiguring a display.controller while conducting a display operation.

CONSTITUTION: A display.controller 22 is periodically reconfigured in order to perform selective and repetitive readings of the stored picture data. In other words, continuous lines are alternatively stored in first and second display.channel.memories 20, the display.controller 22 is reconfigured over the line to the other line of the picture being displayed and changes the relative contributions from two display.channels. Since the lines of of a same picture are stored for every other lines, both display.channels are used. Due to the fact that displayed lines and their relative strength are varied, the function to reconfigure the display controller 22 is used to display the interpolated picture.
