Prior to writing a signal voltage Vsig of a video signal, a correction signal at a level Vp equal to or higher than the maximum amplitude level of the video signal, that is, equal to or higher than a white level is written so that, for example, upon displaying a black window in a white background, brightness difference between a display area (A) and a display area (B) is eliminated to suppress generation of vertical cross talk caused by coupling by the parasitic capacitance Cp present between the signal line and the gate of a driving transistor in the pixel.
