Title:
DISPLAY DEVICE AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011039207
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a display device and a method of driving the same, wherein variation of a write-in property of a drive element driving a self-luminous element and reduction of display quality accompanied by difference of write-in conditions can be prevented.

A display device has a display part in which self-light-emitting elements are arranged in a matrix state, a first period in which display signal voltage in accordance with display data is output to a data line, and a second period in which control voltage which controls the drive element and controls light emission of the self-light-emitting element is output to the data line. The display device has a data line drive circuit supplying the display signal voltage and the control voltage to pixels. The data line drive circuit has a third period in which the prescribed voltage is applied to the control terminal of the drive element after the second period. The circuit performs: output of the display signal voltage in accordance with display data by the first period; output of the control voltage controlling light emission of the self-luminous element by the second period; and output of applying voltage by which the control terminal of the drive element is set to the prescribed voltage by the third period.
