To obtain the uniform dispersion of electrified particles and to decrease the uneven distribution of electrified particles for long-term use in a display device which displays on image by applying a voltage to a dispersion system having the electrified particles dispersed in an insulating liquid to move the electrified particles.
A second electrode 6 is formed on the surface of a light- transmitting tube 4, and a dispersion system 3 having electrified particles dispersed in an insulating liquid 1 is sealed in the tube 4. A plurality of the tubes 4 are arranged on a first substrate 7 on which a first electrode 5 and an insulating layer 9 are formed, with the second electrode 6 being in contact with the insulating layer 9. Then a second substrate 8 is disposed on the tubes 4 and fixed.
