PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of suppressing occurrence of a failure while adding a quality appearance to display, and a display method.SOLUTION: A display device 1 provided in a movable body includes: a display part 2 that displays speed information and information on a total travel distance and the like; a frame member 3a which is provided on the front side of the display part 2 in such a manner as to surround a predetermined area of the display part 2 and which accepts an operation; and a control part 4 which acquires the operation for the frame member 3a and which controls switching of display on the display part 2 in accordance with the acquired operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
