Abstract:
To efficiently extract white light or various kinds of intermediate color light of a desired color temperature with high accuracy in a display device for a sign using UV rays as a light source.
The display device for a sign is equipped with: a light emitting unit including a phosphor for a display device containing a blue light emitting phosphor, a green light emitting phosphor and a red light emitting phosphor; and a light source irradiating the light emitting unit with UV rays. The red light emitting phosphor is a lanthanum oxide sulfide phosphor activated with trivalent europium and samarium, which is substantially represented by (La1-x-yEuxSmy)2O2S, wherein x and y satisfy 0.01≤x≤0.15 and 0.0001≤y≤0.03.
