Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a display device for vehicle in which boundary reflection due to prisms for preventing external light arranged on the surface of the display device is reduced and a display image of high brightness is obtained.
CONSTITUTION: A display device 1, and a first and a second prisms 11, 12 which are arranged close to the display screen of the display device 1 and closely contacted with each other so as to face the prism apex angles in the opposite directions, are provided. A reflecting member 4 which reflects the display light of the display device 1 transmitted through the prisms 11, 12 and leads to the visual point of a driver, is provided. This display device is constituted so that the display light of the display device 1 is projected to the reflecting face of the reflecting member 4 in a state of P-polarized light and a polarization direction rotating means 5 is arranged between the prism 11 and the reflecting member 4 so as to rotate the display light transmitted through the prism 11 by 90°C.
