This display device has a display and a state detecting part for detecting the state of one's own vehicle. The display device selects information with high priority to be displayed on the display from information selectable as information to be displayed on the display according to the state detected by the state detecting part, and displays the information to be fitted in a display region of the display. The display device displays information designated as information to be continuously displayed for a longer time than other information in advance by assigning a fixed region to a part of the display region of the display.
