Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that in a process of sealing material, dropping a liquid crystal and laminating substrates, a pressure difference is induced between an inner pressure (negative pressure) of a liquid crystal cell and an outer pressure (normal pressure) of the liquid crystal cell via an uncured sealing material upon releasing the laminate to the atmospheric pressure after lamination, which causes suction of the sealing material from the outside of the cell to the inside, which may cause bubble defects due to a seal path, and which causes reduction of yield.SOLUTION: A display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate; a liquid crystal held between the first substrate and the second substrate; a sealing material that is formed into a closed pattern enclosing the liquid crystal and bonds the first substrate and the second substrate; and a barrier wall that is arranged outside and along the pattern of the sealing material and fills a gap between the first substrate and the second substrate.
