To provide a display device which forms a virtual image satisfying optical performance, even when image display light is reflected by an optical element, in which the curvature in the X-axis direction of a reflex surface is different from the curvature in the Y-axis direction of the reflex surface, such as, shield of a helmet for two wheels.
The display device 1 is equipped with the optical element 11 arranged in front of the eyes E of an observer R, a relay optical system 21, and a display element 2 emitting the image display light L and reflects the image display light L by the reflex surface 11a for guiding the image display light L to the eyes E of the observer R. The relay optical system 21 forms an intermediate image in the xz surface, including the x-axis direction perpendicular to the z-axis direction, but does not form an intermediate image in the yz surface, including the z-axis direction and the y-axis direction which is perpendicular to the x-axis direction.
