Abstract:

To provide a display electrode and a glass substrate for a plasma display panel suitable for a full-specification high-definition television, which can be manufactured in simple processes at a low cost.

The display electrodes provided in each pixel of a plasma display panel includes: a pair of first electrode layers 7 provided on a glass substrate 1 with a space of a prescribed distance between them to determine a discharge gap; and second electrode layers 8 each provided on the first electrode layers 7 to reduce the whole electrode resistance values. The pair of first electrode layers is made of at least one selected from a group of Ta, W, Mo, Ti, Cr, Si, Co, Mg, Sr, Ba, Sc, Y, V, Zr, Hf, Nb, Cu, Al, Ag, alloys of two or more of these metals, oxides, nitrides and carbides of these.
