PURPOSE: To provide a display element to be easily fittable to a front panel of the display device.

CONSTITUTION: The display element 13 is equipped with a light emitting display tube 21 and a connecting substrate 22. The light emitting display tube 21 has a light emitting display surface on the front side and lead wires 28 led out on the rear side. The connecting substrate 22 is fitted to the rear side of the light emitting display tube 21, having connecting parts 31 Lo be connected with the lead wires 28, and is provided with fitting bearing parts 35 and power source connecting means (flexible substrates) 23 on the rear side. The display element 13 is electrically connectable between the lead wires 28 and the flexible substrates 23 by the connecting substrate 22, and is easily fitted to the front panel by the fitting bearing parts 35.
